Dirt
When spring springs many of us will be considering setting up some sort of garden space. Especially these days, some will be thinking along the lines of “victory gardens”. You know, survival, and possibly making food happen when money doesn’t…
I got to thinking about waay back when my kids were interested in creating fun projects like worm farms in buckets and mini gardens in bottles. These were the early days of kids learning about ecology, recycling and all that is fairly commonplace in our lives these days.
My youngest son, then around 10 (now 29) was in a 4-H club we put together for kids interested in science. He had created his worm farm and fed them table scraps. Then the enriched soil went to the garden and the worms went fishing.
Now a couple weeks ago it got me thinking about, yep…you guessed it, another website! This one focuses on dirt, soil, loam, compost, and…ta da! worm farming! If you’re interested in this sort of thing go ahead and take a look at what I got going so far, then if you have any tips or suggestions that would be appreciated. Here’s the site: www.bookofdirt.com
